Standard analysis, preparation of strategic directions and prototype development of distributed information system

Abstract:

The goal of this project is to prepare technical basics for implementation of distributed GIS systems. The starting points and guidelines for development of distributed GIS systems will be given on the base of well known standards and recommendations (Open GIS Consortium, GML, XML…). Techical specification about transfering different types of data and about WEB Services will follow. A protocol for inclusion of new spatial data providers into the uniform net for mediating spatial data will also be defined. The practical result of the work will be a prototype of distributed GIS system. Such metodology can be the base for similar systems that process a lot of spatial data.
