Developing additional IMINT BLS – BLS ALGO capabilities
Abstract:
The project aims to develop additional software capabilities for the Belin and Galeb drone systems. This includes the analysis of video imagery acquired by the drones, including detection and recognition of military objects, detection of persons in the operational environment, and near real-time detection of the movement of various objects in the field.
The existing BLS (Belin and Galeb) capabilities, in conjunction with the IMINT capability, are an integral part of the ISTAR equipment and are designed to acquire and process intelligence from the operational environment. The existing IMINT software provides image processing mainly at the operational and strategic level, but does not include the functionality relevant to the commander at the tactical level: object/target detection, with emphasis on military objects and targets, and real-time field motion detection. The development of these functions will increase the efficiency of image processing and consequently the effectiveness of intelligence support.
