gLiDAR - Massive LiDAR data processing framework

This project focused on the developed of an innovative and efficient solutions for real-time classification of LiDAR points into ground, buildings and vegetation. We have integrated the proposed methodology into gLiDAR software tool. The tool was awarded by the national Information Society (IS) Award for Ongoing Work. When submitted, its methodology for ground and buildings extraction was recognized as the most accurate one according to the ISPRS (MAR1 in the table on International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) evaluation (http://www2.isprs.org/commissions/comm2/wg4/area4-detection.html). We developed the official digital terrain model (DTM) of Slovenia This model is still at the top of the official national DTMs regarding the accuracy.
