Development of software tool for detecting fault lines on digital relief models

A breakline is defined as a line that connects two distinct surface features. Typical examples of breaklines are ridge lines, toe of a slope, or flowline of a ditch or stream. As such, they may be extracted from the geometric data by estimating the intersection between different linear surfaces. Within this project, the extraction of such breaklines was achieved for the purposes of improving simulations of noise distribution when assessing the appropriateness of building, roads, railways, and airport construction.
